As we build Yotpo’s next generation platform, we’re also exploring how AI can power smarter, more personalized eCommerce experiences. If you’re excited about leveraging AI technologies alongside modern engineering practices, this role is a great opportunity to make meaningful, lasting impact.
You will play a key role in developing and enhancing our platform, designed to be reliable, scalable, and a foundation for enabling other product lines. This involves tackling complex challenges, including building critical applications capable of handling large-scale datasets and high-throughput workloads efficiently.
What you bring to the table:
- Deep backend expertise with event-driven and microservices architectures, plus strong grasp of scalable, resilient system design.
- Proven, hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, building and operating robust production services.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and OOP, with pragmatic trade-off thinking.
- End-to-end ownership of services—architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, observability/monitoring, and support.
- Experience with frontend technologies such as React or Angular — an advantage.
- Strong interest in AI-driven development, with experience using or evaluating AI-assisted coding, testing, or productivity tools — an advantage.
- Experience with any cloud provider (AWS is an advantage); containers/CI/CD/IaC familiarity is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, influence peers, and share knowledge.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and own the full development lifecycle of critical platform services—from architecture and coding to testing, deployment, and production monitoring/incident response.
- Champion technical excellence—coding standards, system design, security, observability and cost awareness—and drive AI integration into engineering practices where it adds value.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, tech leads, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful, end-to-end solutions.
- Proactively contribute to team and company initiatives, document decisions, share knowledge, and drive ownership beyond core responsibilities.
The perfect Candidate:
- Believes in E2E ownership; production-oriented.
- Makes data-informed decisions.
- Loves what they are doing and loves building new things.
- Low ego, high team spirit.
- Has strong collaboration skills.
- Stays focused and delivers outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experienced in operating and monitoring a microservice environment.
- Ruby on Rails experience is an advantage.
- Curious about AI and excited to apply AI-driven tools and practices to improve engineering workflows and product experiences.
