Currently, they are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join their expanding team in Delft, working in a hybrid setup that combines collaboration with remote flexibility.

Job Profile for Senior Java Engineer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Design and develop the core backend software layer for the company’s flagship quantum control system
- Build scalable and efficient backend solutions to support advanced quantum computing operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software components
- Define, implement, and maintain backend architecture to enable high performance and reliability
- Optimise system performance, data processing, and communication efficiency
- Develop tools and APIs that enhance system functionality and user experience
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues to ensure system stability
- Contribute to product design discussions and provide technical input on backend-related features
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in backend development and apply them to improve code quality and performance
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards
Candidate Profile for Senior Java Engineer
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- 5+ years of backend development experience using Java/Kotlin
- Solid experience in Spring ecosystem (Core, Boot, Web)
- Proven experience with multithreaded programming
- Deep understanding of design patterns, systems and software architecture
- Proven track record in handling code review, testing, and system integration
- Focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Strong familiarity with Python programming would be an advantage
- Proven experience in gRPC-based network communication is a plus
- Strong engineering capabilities with a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment and under conditions of uncertainty
- Ability to work in a cross-geography, multi-site environment
