We are currently seeking a Trade Surveillance Analyst to join our team.
The Trade Surveillance Analyst will serve as a key part of the firm’s second line of defense, performing daily monitoring, analysis, and investigation of client trading activity to detect potential market abuse or manipulation across all futures, options, and cleared derivatives executed or cleared through Plus500.
This role ensures the firm remains compliant with CFTC, NFA, and exchange rules (including CME, ICE, Kalshi, and others) by proactively identifying disruptive trading practices, operational anomalies, and emerging risk events.
The analyst will collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk Management, Operations, and Technology teams to identify patterns, escalate concerns, implement appropriate controls, and strengthen the firm’s overall trade surveillance framework.

This role ensures the firm remains compliant with CFTC, NFA, and exchange rules (including CME, ICE, Kalshi, and others) by proactively identifying disruptive trading practices, operational anomalies, and emerging risk events.
The analyst will collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk Management, Operations, and Technology teams to identify patterns, escalate concerns, implement appropriate controls, and strengthen the firm’s overall trade surveillance framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
Under guidance from senior team members include, but are not limited to:
- Review trading data emanating from multiple front-end trading systems, technology, and third-party vendor systems and inform relevant Compliance and Legal stakeholders of any suspicious activity or patterns of unusual trading.
- Explore surveillance methodologies used by the Trade Surveillance team and partner with relevant stakeholders to maximize the efficiency of existing reviews and identify potential new or enhanced controls.
- Evaluate ongoing calibrations with surveillance members to determine the optimal mix of tuning and configuration to mitigate as much risk as possible while minimizing false positives (alert efficiency).
- Monitor daily surveillance alerts and assess potential violations, including but not limited to spoofing/layering, wash trading, cross-market manipulation, excessive messaging or quote stuffing, and non-competitive or prearranged trading.
- Validate and reconcile trading activity to ensure completeness across surveillance systems and the firm’s back office.
- Continue developing in-depth knowledge of financial markets and stay informed of regulatory and exchange changes while maintaining subject matter expertise on surveillance industry trends and technology development.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive investigation reports summarizing findings, root causes, implicated rules, and recommended remediation steps.
- Handle multiple projects, perform surveillance, and deliver tasks in a timely manner.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Risk, and Compliance on onboarding, account changes, and ongoing monitoring requirements.
- Communicate with introducing brokers, proprietary trading firms, and retail customers to address inquiries or escalations related to surveillance findings.
- Provide support to targeted reviews in response to inquiries from Compliance, Risk, and Legal personnel.
Job Requirements:
- Must have Minimum 2-5 years of experience in trade surveillance, compliance, risk management, or futures operations at an FCM, exchange, or proprietary trading firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, information system or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong understanding of futures markets, order types, market microstructure, and exchange rules (CME, ICE, Eurex, etc.).
- Knowledge of CFTC and NFA regulations, including rules related to disruptive trading practices.
- Experience with surveillance platforms and exchange tools (CME, ICE, TT Score, Eventus, etc.).
- – Advanced analytical, investigative, and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to interpret large datasets with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Excel
- Interest in financial markets and electronic trading systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with previous trade surveillance, compliance or trading experience at an FCM.
- Effective organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize between multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively analyze risk to the organization of potential issues discovered
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong understanding of various products offered at Plus500.
- Familiarity with FIX message formats and order audit trail analysis.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and interact professionally with clients.
