IT-Impulse is expanding to Bulgaria, with an office in Sofia, where we are building a local team of IT specialists. We represent a Software Engineering division of the international company JobImpulse GmbH with more than 9.000 employees in 51 locations in 12 countries and we act as an intermediary between the IT software development department and highly qualified IT specialists on the job market.
IT-Impulse with its offices in Seville (Spain) and Kosice (Slovakia) is the point of contact when it comes to IT Outsourcing and Nearshoring.
Your Role:
As a Java Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling modern backend systems using Java 21, Spring Boot 3, and PostgreSQL. You will join an agile team of ten passionate professionals who value clean architecture, collaboration, and pragmatic engineering.
Your Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to translate business requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain distributed systems and microservices built with Java and Spring Boot.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve defects while proactively improving system stability and robustness.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, coding standards, and best practices.
- Write automated tests (unit, integration), conduct code reviews, and ensure clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
- Actively propose ideas and enhancements in a dynamic, fast-moving environment focused on continuous improvement.
What You Bring:
- Several years of hands-on experience developing distributed Java applications.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, RESTful services, and related backend technologies.
- Confidence using modern development tools: IntelliJ, Maven, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, etc.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following best engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering solutions.
- A collaborative team player who values knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Fluency in German and solid communication skills in English.
