Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Senior IT System Engineer to join our IT team and play a crucial role in managing our network, infrastructure, storage, and virtualization. The role will be responsible for monitoring, advising, managing and improving various systems across the company.
Your responsibilities
- Leads IT projects assigned to him by the manager.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, bare metal servers, virtual and physical networks, VPNs, port forwarding, DNS, etc.).
- Perform capacity planning and network upgrades to support business growth.
- Manage storage solutions, backup systems, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Oversee and optimize virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, etc.).
- Administer and troubleshoot Unix based OS, ensuring security and performance.
- Monitor and administer of software systems and network performance, identify issues, and implement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation (configurations, policies, procedures, etc.)
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Computer networks or related field.
- 5+ years proven experience in network administration, system engineering, or IT infrastructure.
- Practical knowledge of operating systems, software systems, cloud-based solutions, computer networks and communications, peripheral devices.
- Experience with computer networking, routing and network protocols
- Experience troubleshooting transport protocols (TCP/UDP)
- Expertise in Unix based system administration.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of storage solutions and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Skills for designing software and hardware systems.
- Must be reliable, professional, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Ability to conduct training sessions.
