At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we’ll bring out the best in you. We’re builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what’s next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You’ll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What’s in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you`ll do:
As a Developer Expert, you are the domain authority for GenAI‑powered, agentic CI/CD tooling used by our primary stakeholder, the SAP HANA Database Development organization. You define and evolve the architecture, guardrails, and adoption strategy across multiple teams, while remaining hands‑on to deliver high‑impact capabilities that help developers ship faster, with greater confidence and reliability.
Your role will involve:
- Design, implement, and optimize advanced GenAI/LLM-enabled CI/CD pipelines and services (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), delivering robust, scalable, and secure automation for database engineering teams.
- Own and deliver complex features and integrations—writing production code, conducting deep technical investigations, and driving solutions from prototype to deployment.
- Develop and maintain telemetry, observability, and guardrails (hallucination/cost/latency metrics, SLAs), ensuring reliability and safety of GenAI-powered automation.
- Lead by example in code quality: conduct code reviews, author technical documentation, and drive adoption of best practices for testing, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate directly with engineers and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and measure business impact through working software.
- Mentor and coach other developers—pair programming, sharing advanced techniques, and helping the team master GenAI, agentic systems, and CI/CD best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and integrate new GenAI frameworks, LLMOps tools, and cloud-native technologies to keep the platform at the cutting edge.
- Contribute to and shape the technical roadmap but always remain hands-on.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven record of delivering complex, production-grade systems and tools.
- Deep expertise in Python and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Demonstrated ability to build, deploy, and operate GenAI/LLM-powered features in production, including prompt engineering, model integration, and observability.
- Advanced skills in designing and implementing telemetry, monitoring, and reliability features for
- AI-driven automation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to drive technical alignment through code, technical talks, and direct mentorship.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with databases and performance‑oriented engineering.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
